Sitting down to write this, I discovered that I’m probably the most blessed person I know. And I’m very grateful. I have a wonderful family, good friends, I live here in the beautiful Poconos, and have had the rare good fortune to play, work and earn a living in the business/vocation I have always loved the most: local radio.
I could talk for hours about radio—tell you about its unique ability to not only entertain and inform, but to connect people in ways that support and enhance their individual and collective lives, whether it’s by just keeping them company or supporting and promoting, often participating in the many programs and events initiated to benefit members of the community and beyond. PLUS I could go on about how much fun I’ve had and the countless wonderful people and experiences I’ve enjoyed over the 40+ years I’ve been in radio. What a ride!
I was born and raised in New Jersey, went to school there, including college, and married Charlotte. Shortly after, we moved just a little north to New York’s scenic Hudson River Valley and my first full time radio gig. I was fortunate to spend most of my career and raise a family there. That was unusual because, especially back then, it was customary that if you were in radio you had to move all over the place to “progress.”
Well, that family we raised (and other family members too) all upped and moved to Pennsylvania many years ago, settling mostly around Scranton. We were a little late to the party, but now, after truly countless trips back and forth on Route 84, here we are too, close enough for family visits, child care assistance and attending grandchildren’s basketball games. We love it! We have time to explore and experience this beautiful area and all it offers, and now that I’m part of the Pocono 96.7 team, host of the Saturday morning show, I have the great privilege and pleasure of getting to know you! Thank you!
