PVEN Community Services Information Fair
PVEN is hosting a community/social services information fair on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 10am – 2pm at its location at 2334 Route 209, Sciota. The event is free and open to the public. Over 25 social and community service agencies will be on hand to give out valuable information to residents of the West End (and Monroe County). The Center For Vision Loss will be providing free vision screenings. Besides social service agencies, the Monroe County Master Gardeners will be on hand, along with the West End Park and Open Space Commission and the Pleasant Valley Youth Association Summer Recreation Camp program.
Are you looking for a job? The U.S. Census Bureau will be on hand to discuss employment opportunities in our area. Participants will be entertained by the Notre Dame High School Jazz and Rock Band.
Tell your friends! See you May 4!
Summer Meals Volunteers Needed
PVEN is once again hosting the summer meals program intended to feed children during the summer months who may not otherwise receive enough nutritional meals when school is not in session. This offers members of our community a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on the youth of our community by serving as summer lunch volunteers. The program begins June 17 and runs through August 16. Give as much time as you can! Most opportunities are from 10am-1pm, Monday through Friday. For more information, or to volunteer, please call PVEN at 570-992-3136 and ask for Colleen.
